Tony Robbins at the Halifax Metro Center

Yesterday, Marie and I saw Tony Robbins live in Halifax. It was the first time he had had his www.thepowerwithin.com in Halifax, and the crowd was over 5000 people. I was really looking forward to seeing Tony becasue I have seen a lot of speakers, but never Tony.

And, like Tony, I have an interest in human psychology and peak performance.

One of the most important points I took away was that at the core it’s your blueprint that determines your happiness and fulfillment in life in the long term and your current state in the now-by-now seconds of life.

There are only 2 ways to change your state:

1. Change your physiology (or body) meaning how you stand how much oxygen you use, how excited your are, etc. Basically in my words, you are your own energy broker.

2. Change your focus.

Now this is really interesting because it explains why people gravitate towards TV, or more particularly to watching a movie or going shopping for some people. You can control your focus with your mind, or let an external event direct it — like a movie. But ultimately you need to direct your own focus. Otherwise you’ll feel scattered and let your energy diffuse.

In fact, a lot of A-Type behavior can be linked to this point of focus. When centered on a goal, people start to direct their own future.

Another way of changing the focus is by asking yourself the right questions.

We both took a great deal from seeing Tony Robbins live. And his passion. And as Tony says, he is not a motivational speaker; but rather a “Why Guy” who has the passion to help people change. And I really respect how he does that. Great, great event.

This is one of my older pages on Tony Robbins with a link to a free MP3 of him speaking…. Just don’t expect it to measure up to the EXPERIENCE of seeing him live.

  • What I’ve Been Up To…

Many people have been wondering what I’ve been up to. So I’ll share a little bit. Marie and I have totally re-vamped our lives. We sold our primary residence and our rental property in Toronto and moved out to Nova Scotia to a huge new house in the country.

It’s actually a 165 year old United Church Manse that has been totally renovated. I’ll put up pics later.

We realized that we needed to make a drastic change that people called us crazy for even thinking about. And we took a good many months off work. Wow. I love having the flexibility to do that. A friend of mine said the other day that she was so grateful to be in position where she did not have to compromise her values for a job or company. And I couldn’t agree more. Sure it takes work to create that kind of life for yourself, but when the time comes and you can choose to act in line with your ethics, and walk away from something… Well, you’ll thank me then.

We have also resigned from our former direct sales company.

And I have some “lessons learned” that I’ll be sharing later.

    Andrew
