Just been playing with some fonts.
If you’re building Adsense sites, which I don’t, think about using Arial 10pt. This is the same font Google uses for their default adsense ads.
For salesletters, I’m starting to use bigger, more open fonts. I used to use some pretty small fonts, which look great to me, but I suspect some older people may have trouble seeing them.
(ie Georgia 10pt).
So for salesletters, I’m going to be trying out wider fonts, that I don’t necessarily like in terms of a cool, but are good for readability like Courier new 14 pt and Trebuchet MS 12pt.
I also really like Tahoma for headlines.
What fonts do you use on your websites, and why?

I found myself committed to a few too many launches when some really good ones for me re-launched (like Mind Movies) and some other good ones extended their launch (like Super Mind Evolution.)
So I ended up not being able to promote all the ones I committed to, and I dropped the ball.
I did not really capitalize on time for the 11 Forgotten Laws launch as much as I should have.
Lessons learned:
- Don’t over-commit
- Doing less launches, but sending multiple emails about each launch is FAR BETTER than sending out 1 email for many promotions.
I thought it was important to make my mistake public. (Better accountability.)
2009 will be a GREAT year.

It doesn’t matter where I am, whether
I am traveling to Panama, Hawaii, Mexico,
even Pairs and the UK, I always
overhear the same conversation…
…Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo, Myspace,
Web 2.0, money, social networking,
future, etc…
Those are the words that I can
typically pick out without being able to
speak French.
(Marie’s the one who can do that!)
…anyway
With that being said I have an
extremely urgent and important
message that can, and will,
change a few lucky people’s lives…
If you are short of time – click here
to watch the video that explains
everything in detail…
This is an extremely revolutionary
opportunity to actually own your own
turnkey social networking website!
On your own domain name…
With your own custom profile, theme,
questions, and layout…
Typically, it would cost anywhere from
10k – 60k (depending on how who you hire
to write your code) to create something of this
magnitude…
I am not going to spoil the surprise here,
however, a few lucky folks will be
getting this for a fraction of cost…
Please hurry and watch this video
before this opportunity vanishes…
(No marketing scheme, but this offer
is extremely limited in numbers).

There are changes that go on in any industry.
The way people opt-in is changing too. People often have a junk email account they get all their newsletter to, or they use filters in GMail or Outlook. (I'm into Gmail personally with their tagging feature instead of folders.)
But a great way to let people know they won't be spammed on your opt-in page is to (instead of saying "We hate spam too,") is to say something like "Any email you receive comes with an 'unsubscribe' link. "
It's clear, direct, and boy there's nothing more annoying than getting a newsletter without a clear unsubscribe link. Aweber makes it really easy to that, and people TRUST being able to click that link.
Anyhow, think about how people look at your opt-in boxes on your squeeze pages.
