I just saw the move "Man on Wire" last night.

It was absolutely riveting.  Here is a guy, Philippe Petit, who broke into the World Trade Center in 1974 and set up a tightrope and walked across it  for 45 minutes.

It was filled with false leads, and half-steps – and created much more suspense than any documentary with the end already clear from the beggin should have.

But I also noticed something about Philippe.

Because of his incredible exuberance and enthusiasm, he was able to get people to help him accomplish his goals in life – who worked hours for him tirelessly asking for nothing in return.  It was completely, completely remarkable.  There was even one guy from Australia, who flew over to train with him in France, and then flew over to scope out the Twin Towers in NYC.

This illustrates how important enthusiasm is.  It's a rarely taught skill, although Marie and I have created a presentation on it.

Also, he has an incredible obsession with achieving his goals – which through sheer force of obsession – compelled him to achieve the seemingly impossible.

Watch it if you get the chance!
