I was listening to a personal development CD this morning as I was spending smome time with our new baby, and there was a quick exercise proposed.
"If you had only 30 seconds to tell your children the 3 most important things about life, what would you tell them?"
Well, the 3 things that popped into my head are:
But let's turn this post into something really powerful. What are the 3 most important things you would tell your kids if you had 30 seconds?
Even if you just answer with 3 words, I think you'll find this exercise helps both you AND others… So take 30 seconds right now and share YOUR insights below…

1. It’s all about love and gratitude. Love your family, your enemies, your life — and always express your gratitude for everything in your life. When you live your life in a place of complete love and gratitude, amazing things will happen — and, you will experience peace in a chaotic world!
2. Let faith guide your life. Believe in a higher power, and follow where you are guided — your life will be so much more than you ever dreamt it could be!
3. Ask great questions. The better the question, the better the answer. Start each day asking “What does God want me to create in my life today?” and end each day asking “How has God’s hand blessed my life today?”
The three things that jump into my mind right away are…
1) Your Thinking: Always remember that today’s thoughts bring tomorrow’s results.
2) People You Associate With: Separate yourself and ignore those who say “You Can’t”. Align yourself with those who both say “You Can” and also do so themselves.
3) Fears: Look inward to examine and identify ALL your fears. Then, with ABSOLUTE INTENT, FACE those fears and overcome them. Our fears are very often irrational but very powerful in holding us back from success as we each define it. Make a list of them. Start with the smaller ones if need be because each fear you conquer produces TWO results. 1) It empowers you to overcome other, larger ones easier. 2) Enables you to realize that YOU place those fears in your own mind and now no longer have to.
LOVE your question.
My 1st three thought are:
1. ALWAYS ask, “What would LOVE do?” for EVERY decision you make. What to eat, wear, write on a job resume, what to say, think, feel, etc.
Divine, spirit LOVE, NOT human love. LOVE will ALWAYS give you what you need to do what it asks.
2. KNOW that every person, place, thing, situation that comes into your life, CAME BECAUSE YOU ASKED for it at some level. All is your mirror….ALL.
3. Say THANK YOU for everything that comes into your life. Those words raise your vibration and move you into more of the good stuff that you are grateful for OR move you into higher KNOWING of WHY you have attracted some ‘sacred doo doo’ in your life.
Sharing has been fun. I almost deleted your email because I don’t know you well. Checked to see who you were and saw your Canadian address so I decided to check out a fellow canuck….whoopee!
Love connecting. Have a superb day and thanks for sharing your wisdom.

Having been married for 47 years, and having 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and one great grandchild here is my best advice.
1. Remember that time on Earth is precious, and that Life is far, far to short already , so enjoy it..
2. Live Life to the fullest, take time off to “smell the roses”
3. Never, never give up on your dreams and goals. Focus on the positive and avoid the “toxic or negative” in Life.
How I conduct my life:
1. Gratitude to the Universal Spirit for everything.
2. Persistence in everything I do and success follows.
3. Knowing (not just believing) that I can successfully handle anything that comes along. Guess what, no worries!
3. Don’t judge anyone or anything. The Universal Spirit and its Law of Karma will look after all situtations, whether positive or negative.
By surprise I have arrived at the age of 62… and counting.
So today I confidently can say that the 3 most important things I like to tell my kids and grand kids in 30 seconds are the same as the one I strive to live by:
1…Have direct contact with God or Whom ever you perceive God to be.
2…Take good care of your health, your family and the environment.
3…Live life as interesting as you possibly can and enjoy every minute of it.

1. Trust that God loves you unconditionally. Accepting this profound love will bring light to all of life’s dark moments.
2. Treat others as you would like to be treated. I know, sounds like a cliche, but sometimes the simplest mantras ring with the most truth.
3. Always keep learning. The learners are continually preparing themselves to adapt to changes. “In times of change, learners inherit the earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.”

30 secs to my kid:
Fill your heart with love
1. Have Faith in GOD, self and others
2. Be Positive always.
3. Reach out unconditionally.
three things that jump to my mind are
1 open your mind up to new idea in your dream it will surpass any idea giving to you by man
2 treat every man equally irrepective of religion, location and colour because one of them will say a word that will make ponder and have a breakthrough in life
3 please build on exiting structure never make a copy if you cant then build your own from start
1. Asking ‘why’ wastes your time. Ask ‘how’.
2. Do, say or give to others as you’d like them do, say or give to you.
3. Never assume anything.
Hi Andrew,
Here are the three things I would tell my children if I only had 30 seconds left to say anything to them to help them with their future. (As a matter of fact I say these things to them every night when I kiss them goodnight.)
1. I love you sweetheart with all my heart.
2. You are my favourite, girl/boy in the world. (I have one of each, very convienent! ;o)
3. You can do anything you want. If you think you can do it, you are right. If you think you can’t you are right!
Thank-you for sharing your own words of wisdom with us Andrew.
I agree with your own 3 topics, those are the things that I teach children in my “The Insider’s Secret’s to Raising a Future Millionaire” ebook that I created to help parents teach their kids about money.

I don’t have children yet, but here’s what I would tell them:
1. Love all life and be thankful for this planet and everything on it, and remember that all life is beautiful for the simple fact that it exists
2. Only you can make you feel miserable
3. Don’t think too much (go doing things and smile instead)
Wow, what a great post & comments.
Here’s my 3
1. Never give up!
2. You are an infinite being, nothing is impossible.
3. Make a difference in as many people’s lives as possible.

i know for sure as i have been there ,done that
be grateful even when situations are not according to your plan…when u are grateful it will change
be patient while waiting for it to change, trusting it will when you are ready to receive it
and when you receive it be grateful again for the change received or receiving and or if you have to change your path do it with gratitude always each step of the way
Never doubt your own sanity.
Stick to your principles. The most important ones are Love, Fairness, Wisdom and Power.
Make sure of your two-fold purpose in life:
Firstly, your Ego Purpose is to do whatever you enjoy most, and to do it well.
Secondly, your Greater Purpose is to help others achieve to their ego purpose, and to contribute to the harmony and growth of those around you.
Wow.
Thank you for all your comments. It’s truly profound to get the very essence – the completely distilled wisdom – reduced to the simple.
The value of these comments is truly amazing.
This is so much more profound than any book. This is the core wisdom of multiple people. Take some time to REALLY read these comments.
Thanks again all!
I was honored to see and meet Louise Hay this past weekend and she actually had 3 WORDS that she shared – and when I read you wonderful blog – it was not three things, but simply these three words that sprang to mind:
“LIFE LOVES ME”.
Now, each and every time you don’t get stopped at the light when you are in a hurry say “Life Loves Me!”.
Each time the kind person sees you rushing up to the line, smiles and says “go ahead” say “Life Loves Me!”
Each time your mailbox money arrives “Life Loves Me!”.
Each and every moment you have to spend with your loved ones, “Life Loves Me!”.
Each and every smile from your children, “Life Loves Me!”.
Every morning when you awaken, glad to be fit and to be blessed with yet another wonderful day ahead, “Life Loves Me”.
When you realize that you ARE living the life of your dreams with many connections, networks, partnerships and friends who are all living in vibrant joy and abundance – “LIFE LOVES ME!”
To Your Continued Growth & Success!

With my experiences in life so far, three things that I will tell my children about are that:
They should have total faith in the Higher power for their guidance and direction in whatever they are here to achieve. Failure is not an option.
To beileve that there is nothing that they can not achieve in this universe and to always know what they really want at all times.
To know and be who they are really meant to be and become . Leaders, achievers, winners.
I’ll tell my crew to be:
1. Friendly
2. Fast &
3. Flexible
to clients.
Because I have been stuggling as of late, this was just what I needed today.
1. It is ALL good. (even when I think “I just don’t care anymore.” I have friends, family, co-workers, other people who still love me and I CAN still go on; count your blessings, and the other “stuff” will fall away…
2. Begin each day with GRATITUDE, be thankful for a new day, look for the good, and you will find it.
3. Life is a challenge, that is what LIFE is, and if it is not a challenge in some way, you must be dead. We always have good and bad at the same time, that dual principle. When we focus on the bad, that is all we see. When we focus on the good, that is all we see. But we must realize it is ALL good, because that is how we grow to have something better.
Thanks for asking the right question, you definitely are getting some great answers. Don’t you think we all are some wise sage in modern clothing?
great question andrew!
1. take 100% responsibility for your life. this will allow you to skip the victim stage some of us (ahem) spent decades in!
2. follow your passions always. they are the clue to what you are here for.
3. bless everything. whenever anything appears in your life as a “problem” know that this is an opportunity to bless it, cleanse it, clear it.
Get out of your head and into your heart. All the important movement is in your heart. Focus on loving yourself and growing your own peace of mind to be larger than life. This assures that you’ll contribute to the community and become the change you’re wanting.
Fall asleep at night telling yourself:
I am,
peaceful
loving
wealthy
generous
healthy
healed
etc
Then end with “I am one with power.”
All the focus of this message is in your heart, not your mind.
All your dreams will manifest with this practice and you won’t step on anyone’s toes.
1- life with soul and emotions
2- health
3- clear mind and good faith in god
1. Be honest with yourself and take time to reflect
2. Find and live your higher purpose with joy and
gratitude
3. Always refer everything back to God and trust in His
loving Support and Guidance
There are so many things that I could tell them, but if I have to tell only 3, here tehy are:
1.- Gratitude for the glass half full (remember who to be grateful to – GOD)
2.- Be honest and have integrity in everything you do in life
3.- Be persistente and have the right attitude in everything you do (in life, sport, at work, as an enterpreneur, etc)
Success and Happiness are choices… always choose well….
1. You are as fantastic and wonderful and special and powerful as you have secretly dreamed you are.
2. Listen. In a world full of information and sound, be the one who absorbs it.
3. This is it. Live now, in every moment be present. Be whole.
1. Always be willing to fail and always know you’re moving forward with all of your mistakes.
2. Always realize that you’re in the moment and that there isn’t anything that matters at any place or time than that moment and make the best of it, mentally, and physically.
3. Never be afraid to be judged, critiqued, or taught a new thing, and overcome this fear if present by doing what you are afraid of.
In the hardening marketplace, this is a great question to ask yourself daily to help you keep on track.
1) Believe in yourself. Look at your past accomplishments and be proud of where you have come from.
2) Always look to improve yourself. It is said that you should not only strengthedn your weaknesses, but become extraordinary by learneing more about your strengths.
3) Live life to it’s fullest – For some that will mean family, for others it may mean adventure, some others yet it may mean curling up with a good book and a cat on your lap. No matter what yor passion is in life, you need to enjoy it, otherwise all the rest (money, wealth, ambition) doesn’t mean a whole heck of a lot.
